Model Train Museum

Back in March, the Bay State Model Railroad Museum opened its doors for only one of two events where they are open to the public. Most of the year, they work on their trains in private and with a serious commitment to scale and realism. But twice a year, at Christmas and an open house in March, they open their doors to the public as a fundraiser. It is right in our neighborhood so we could not resist dropping by. The space is big, but the aisles are tight because the model trains are expansive. It was very cool, and we will certainly be back. The guys running it are serious about their work and while some seemed grumpy about sharing it with the public, others were very friendly and open to answering questions. The visitors were an odd mix of train nerds and young families...see if you can spot some in the pictures below.
